Criteo and Magistry

Criteo is connected and steered by Magistry's agents: daily campaign and ad-set performance syncs in, and ad sets can be paused or resumed.

Status: Built and steered by Magistry's agents, and connectable from Settings → Integrations, but not live yet: no store has connected Criteo, so there are no Criteo results to report.

What moves between Criteo and Magistry

Connection: API client credentials (Criteo developer app client id and secret, consented to your advertiser, plus advertiser id).

SYNCS INTO MAGISTRY

  • Campaigns with their goal and spend limit.
  • Ad sets under each campaign, with their on/off status.
  • Daily performance per campaign and per ad set: impressions (displays), clicks, cost, and 30-day post-click sales and revenue.

MAGISTRY CAN CHANGE

  • Pause or resume an ad set (where Criteo's on/off switch lives), from the dashboard or from an agent decision once it is approved.

WHAT IT CANNOT DO

  • Pause or resume a whole campaign: a Criteo campaign has no on/off field, and Magistry will not fan a pause out over its ad sets.
  • Change a campaign budget (spend limit); no documented write path was found.
  • Change bids or bid strategy; they live on the ad set and are not written.
  • Read or edit ads and creatives.
  • Manage keywords or negative keywords; Criteo buys audiences, not search queries.
  • Create campaigns, ad sets or ads.

How to connect Criteo

Connections happen in the dashboard. Everything starts propose-only; autonomy is a separate step you take later.
  1. 1In Magistry, open Settings → Integrations and find the Criteo card, then press Connect.
  2. 2Create an app at developers.criteo.com and give it consent to your advertiser.
  3. 3Enter the app's client id and secret and your advertiser id.
  4. 4Magistry makes the same read its sync makes and saves the credentials only if the platform answers; nothing is written to the platform during this check.
  5. 5Once saved, the platform is added to the store's active ad platforms so the regular ads sync starts reading it.

Common questions

Can Magistry change Criteo budgets or bids?

No. The only Criteo write is pausing or resuming an ad set; budgets, bids and creatives stay in Criteo.
