// what magistry does with it

What Magistry does with Shopify

Two-way sync over the Shopify Admin GraphQL API — products, variants, orders, customers, and inventory feed every agent's decisions, with webhooks for near-real-time updates.

Catalog lifecycle automation: classify, draft, publish, discount, and archive SKUs with thresholds self-calibrated from your own store's performance distribution.

Approval-gated writes — prices, inventory, tags, metafields, product status, discounts, gift cards, and refunds land as proposals until you grant autonomy per surface.

Chargeback handling through Shopify Payments: evidence assembly, LLM rebuttals, and dispute submission.

Theme edits via Theme Studio — every change is a reviewed diff with snapshot-first rollback.

First-party Web Pixel for server-side tracking and conversion delivery to your ad platforms.

How to connect Shopify

Connections happen in the dashboard's integrations hub. Everything starts propose-only — autonomy is a separate step you take later.
  1. 1In the Magistry dashboard, open Settings → Integrations and choose Connect Shopify.
  2. 2Approve the OAuth install in your Shopify admin — Magistry requests read scopes first.
  3. 3Watch the setup wizard verify the connection as the first catalog and order sync fills in.
  4. 4Grant write scopes later, per surface, when you're ready to enable automation.

Common questions

Does Magistry write to my Shopify store without asking?

Not by default. Every store starts in propose-only mode: agents draft actions and you approve them. Autonomy is opt-in per surface, gated by a kill switch you own, and every applied action is logged with a reversal operation where one exists.

Which Shopify data does Magistry read?

Products, variants, orders, customers, inventory, and shop settings over the Admin GraphQL API, plus webhooks for events like new orders and payment disputes. Reads power the audit and the agents' proposals.

Can I connect read-only first?

Yes — that's the default path. With read access the full store audit runs with zero write risk. Write scopes are a separate, deliberate step you take when enabling automation for a specific surface.

Does Magistry handle Shopify Payments chargebacks?

Yes. Dispute Shield ingests disputes via Shopify Payments webhooks, assembles evidence, drafts the rebuttal, and submits through the Shopify Payments API. Stripe and PayPal submission are on the roadmap, not live yet.
