Run Magistry on any backend: serve its documented read-only contract from your own endpoint and it syncs customers, orders, products and conversions.

What moves between Custom API and Magistry

Connection: Magistry-issued bearer token, HTTPS only; your endpoint serves Magistry's documented contract.

SYNCS INTO MAGISTRY

  • Your customer base (customers endpoint).
  • Revenue events — one-time and recurring payments, including refunds — as orders for lifetime value and revenue reporting.
  • Your offerings, as products and variants.
  • A customer's live account status, fetched per support conversation so the support agent can quote it.
  • Funnel steps you already record, used as secondary conversions for Google Ads bidding.
  • Your tracking manifest: the conversion steps you declare, from which conversion actions are set up.
  • Optionally, tools from a partner MCP server you approve, called as read-only fact sources with an allowlist and a daily budget.

MAGISTRY CAN CHANGE

Nothing. Custom API is connect-only: Magistry reads it and writes nothing back.

WHAT IT CANNOT DO

  • Write to your backend: the endpoint only serves data.
  • Call an endpoint that is not HTTPS or that resolves to a private address.
  • Let a partner MCP tool perform a write; partner sources are read-only by a database constraint.
  • Pull more than 200,000 rows from one list in a single sync.

How to connect Custom API

Connections happen in the dashboard. The connection is read-only: Magistry writes nothing to Custom API.
  1. 1In Magistry's integrations settings, open Custom data source and generate a bearer token; put it in your endpoint's environment.
  2. 2Build the read-only endpoint in your own codebase using the copyable Claude Code prompt.
  3. 3Paste your endpoint's base URL; Magistry calls it and checks every field against the contract.

Common questions

Does Magistry write to my backend?

No. Your endpoint only serves data; Magistry calls it over HTTPS with a bearer token it issues.

How do I build the endpoint?

Magistry gives you a copyable prompt for Claude Code that builds the read-only endpoint in your own codebase, then checks every field against the contract.

Put Custom API on the audit trail.

Connect it in the dashboard, watch what the agents propose, and approve the moves you like. Nothing executes without a gate you set.
